Forex Brokerage Technology FAQs
Straight answers to the questions founders and brokers ask us most often.
Most of the forex broker technology questions we hear come up again and again, whether someone is planning their first launch or replacing a system that no longer fits. We’ve gathered the common ones here and grouped them by topic. If yours isn’t covered, get in touch and ask us directly.
What does a forex brokerage technology provider do?
We supply, configure and connect the systems a brokerage runs on. That includes the trading platform, CRM and client portal, liquidity connectivity, payment integration, websites, mobile apps and hosting. We look after the technology so you can focus on running the business.
Are you a forex broker?
No. We don’t offer trading accounts, investment advice or signals, and we don’t hold or manage client funds. We’re a technology company that works with brokerages.
Can you help with licensing?
Licensing isn’t something we handle. Requirements differ a lot between jurisdictions and business models, so please speak to qualified legal advisors. What we do is build technology that fits whatever structure your legal setup allows.
Do I need every service you offer?
Not at all. Some clients take the full stack. Others only need a CRM, a new website or help with liquidity. We’ll recommend what makes sense for your situation and connect it to any systems you already have.
Do you work with existing brokerages or only new ones?
Both. Many of our clients are established brokers upgrading systems they’ve outgrown.
What’s the simplest way to explain grey label versus white label?
With a grey label, your brokerage runs under your own brand on an MT5 environment someone else operates. With a white label, you get a more dedicated environment and much more control over how it’s configured. Grey label costs less to start. White label gives you more flexibility as you grow.
Which one should a new brokerage choose?
It depends on your budget, expected volume and how much control you need. If you’re testing a market or working with limited funds, grey label is often the practical first step. If you’re well funded and expect strong early volume, starting with white label can save you a migration later.
Can I move from grey label to white label later?
Yes. It’s a common path. With proper planning, client accounts and history can be moved with very little disruption.
Will clients see my brand or someone else’s?
On both models, clients see your brokerage’s branding throughout their experience.
Does MetaQuotes endorse your services?
MetaTrader 5 and MT5 are trademarks of MetaQuotes Ltd. We refer to them to describe the platforms we work with, and this doesn’t imply any endorsement.
Why does a brokerage need a specialised CRM?
A general CRM tracks sales. A forex CRM also handles document verification, deposits, withdrawals, trading account creation, IB commissions and syncing with MT5. Those are tasks a standard CRM wasn’t designed for.
Does the CRM connect directly to MT5?
Yes. Trading accounts are created automatically once a client is approved, and balances update when deposits or withdrawals are processed.
Can I manage introducing brokers and affiliates in the CRM?
Yes. You can set up multi-level partner structures, define commission rules and give partners their own area to track referrals and earnings.
Can my team have different levels of access?
Yes. Roles are configurable, so sales, compliance, finance and support each see only what they need.
We already use another CRM. Can you migrate our data?
Yes. We plan the move carefully, run test migrations and verify records, balances and partner data before switching over.
Do you provide liquidity?
We provide the technology that connects your brokerage to liquidity providers. Pricing and execution come from the providers you choose to work with.
What is a liquidity bridge?
It’s software that links your trading platform to external liquidity providers. It sends client orders out, brings prices and fills back, and applies your routing and markup rules along the way.
Can I connect more than one liquidity provider?
Yes. Multiple providers can be connected, with aggregation and routing rules deciding how orders are handled, plus backup routes in case one provider has problems.
Can you guarantee fast execution?
No honest provider can. Execution depends on your liquidity providers, network routes, hosting location and market conditions. We make sure the technology between you and your providers is set up properly and tested thoroughly.
Why not use a regular web agency for our broker website?
You can, but most agencies haven’t built account comparison pages, platform downloads, multilingual risk disclosures or registration forms that feed directly into a broker CRM. We build these as standard.
Can our team update the website without a developer?
Yes. You’ll have a content management system for promotions, news and general page updates.
Is a branded mobile app really necessary?
It’s not essential for every brokerage, but if many of your clients are on phones, a branded app makes onboarding, funding and account management much easier. It also keeps your brand on their home screen.
Does the app work on both iPhone and Android?
Yes. We build for both. Final approval in the app stores rests with Apple and Google.
Do you offer MT5 hosting?
Yes. We set up and manage server environments for MT5 and supporting systems, with monitoring, backups and recovery planning.
Where should our servers be located?
That depends on where your liquidity providers are and where your clients trade from. We look at both and recommend locations that balance them sensibly.
Can you guarantee 100% uptime?
No. Nobody can truthfully promise that. We focus on careful setup, constant monitoring, tested backups and a clear recovery plan, so issues are caught early and resolved quickly.
Can you move us from our current hosting provider?
Yes. Migrations are planned around market hours with rollback options at each step, so live trading stays protected.
How long does it take to set up brokerage technology?
It depends on your platform model, the number of integrations and how quickly third parties respond. Grey label setups usually move faster than white label. You’ll get a realistic timeline after the first consultation.
How much does it cost?
Costs vary depending on which components you need and how they’re configured. After understanding your requirements, we give you a clear breakdown so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
What do you need from us to get started?
A sense of your business model, target markets, budget and timeline helps. You don’t need everything finalised. Working through open decisions is part of our early conversations.
Do you test everything before launch?
Yes. We run full client journeys through the system, from registration to withdrawal, so problems are found in testing rather than by your clients.
What support do you provide after launch?
We handle configuration changes, troubleshooting, updates and planning as your brokerage grows. You’ll work with a team that already knows your setup.
How do you protect client data?
We use access controls, secured connections between systems, role-based permissions and logging of sensitive actions, along with proper backup and recovery planning.
Who is responsible for compliance?
Your brokerage is. We build the tools that support compliance workflows, such as verification queues and audit trails, but regulatory obligations and decisions remain with you.
